Amber Hayes Invites Listeners to “C’mon” with New Summertime Single

FUNL Music recording artist Amber Hayes has officially released her debut single to Country radio, the fun and flirtatious summertime track, “C’mon.”

Co-written with Brian Pharoah and guitarist Bill Diluigi, “C’mon” was penned in a moment of inspiration while on a writer’s retreat in California. The song came together in a matter of minutes during a trip to the beach.

“I was driving, and Bill and Brian were in the back seat with their guitars,” Hayes says. “I guess I was in the mood to write a fun, party-girl song that day. By the time we got to the beach it was done!”

The Oklahoma native co-wrote most of the songs on her upcoming album and is currently in the middle of her first radio tour in support of “C’mon,” the project’s title track and debut single. The multi-week tour has already taken Hayes through Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Tennessee during its first leg of stops.

Hayes was discovered by newly formed Nashville-based label, FUNL Music, while starring in one of the leading roles of the Conway Twitty musical, “It’s Only Make Believe.” The multi-talented singer and songwriter was a childhood actor and beauty pageant winner before exploring her talents in musical theater, which includes appearances in Nashville productions of “Could It Be Love” and “The Vagina Monologues” alongside Mandy Barnett and Opry member Jeannie Seely. While touring in the Conway Twitty production in 2009, Hayes also found time to record the bulk of songs for her full-length debut, scheduled for release later this year.

“We knew we had to sign Amber after we saw her perform on stage in the Conway musical,” says FUNL co-founder and President, Tamara Alan. “She is a true triple threat - she sings, she acts, she dances, and she’s just an incredibly good-hearted, down-to-earth girl from the Midwest with a passion for real Country music. I don’t think there are too many women in this genre today that mix traditional Country with a modern sound quite the way Amber can. It’s a very exciting time for all of us here at FUNL.”

Extras Needed for Bridgette Tatum's "Loud" Video Shoot at 12th & Porter to Celebrate 2010 ACC Football

Root 49 Records recording artist Bridgette Tatum is calling for many loud music and sports fans to appear as extras in a music video for the upcoming 2010 ACC Football season. Tatum’s song “Loud” has recently been named the 2010 ACC Football theme song. The shoot, performed for ACC Advanced Media and Raycom Sports Productions, will take place this Thursday, July 8th at 12th and Porter at 1:30 p.m. To RSVP to the video shoot as an extra, email BTLOUD@gmail.com.

Tatum hasn’t slowed down this year as she criss-crosses the states promoting her music and 6 song EP entitled A Taste Of Sex. Church & Chicken throughout the summer. Her current single, “That’s Love Y’all,” just debuted at #51 on the Billboard Indicator chart and is climbing steadily. For more information on Bridgette Tatum, please visit www.bridgettetatum.com.

The firecracker brunette was raised on the tent revival brand of soul-shaking gospel, swirling with the Holy Spirit and saturated with raw passion. Music coursed through her veins, seeping deep into her bones, and manifesting as the powerful sultry wailing and soulful crooning that brand Bridgette’s sound uniquely as her own. Bridgette moved to Nashville and worked her way up to the honky-tonks on Broadway and a regular Friday night gig at the Star Café in White’s Creek. It wasn’t until she found a kindred spirit in manager Carolyn Miller, however, that her career began to really take shape.

Stonehoney Appearing at The Basement Wednesday, July 28th

The group Stonehoney has been fine-tuning their live performances, touring relentlessly and giving Austin, TX another band to evidence why their adopted city is the live music capital of the world. Stonehoney’s debut album The Cedar Creek Sessions embodies the “in the moment” energy of their live shows by being cut entirely live in the studio. Set for release on July 6th on Austin-based Music Road Records, The Cedar Creek Sessions captures the vulnerable vocals and smart, insightful lyrics of this four front-man band.

Comprised of veteran songwriters and musicians Shawn Davis, Phil Hurley, David Phenicie and Nick Randolph, the group met at a songwriters-in-the-round and soon realized their musical rapport and personal chemistry made for a rare yet remarkable unison. Stonehoney’s seamless vocal harmonies embody their collaborative spirit, allowing for striking lead arrangements, powerfully delivered from each band member, creating their own blend of Americana, rock and folk.

This cooperative balance of Stonehoney is captured on The Cedar Creek Sessions. The record is a long time coming for the group, who have maintained a heavy touring schedule and performed at venues and festivals across the country. The album was tracked live at its namesake, Cedar Creek Recording in Texas, and guest musicians include Earl “Poole” Ball (Johnny Cash) and Ken Coomer (formally of Wilco). Shawn Davis says, "For me, it’s all about this band and the songs. For four songwriters and front men to come together and shed as much ego as possible to be part of something, instead of it all being about an individual, says it all for me and for us as a team."

The songs on The Cedar Creek Sessions are deeply personal and reflect each band member’s exceptional ability to craft the intimacies of heartbreak, exploration, strength and happiness into melodic arrangements to which anyone can relate. Phil Hurley says, “One of my favorite aspects of this band is that everyone seems to feel invited in by our music, from pre-schoolers to senior citizens. It’s like there’s something for everyone.”

HURRICANE BELLS TO RELEASE DOWN COMES THE RAIN EP ON SEPTEMBER 7, 2010

Hurricane Bells will release a new EP, Down Comes The Rain, on September 7th, 2010.

Down Comes The Rain was recorded by band architect Steve Schiltz in his Brooklyn, NY, apartment and Queens, NY, studio over the past six months, during breaks from touring in support of the band's debut album, Tonight Is The Ghost. As with that album, Schiltz entirely wrote, recorded, played, and produced the EP himself, this time with backing vocals from Hurricane Bells touring mainstay Ashen Keilyn (of Scout). Down Comes The Rain includes two new songs from the band, the gently ringing guitars and brushed drums of "The Waiting Song" and the cascading "The Deep End." The EP also features three cover songs: the jangly power-pop of "Make A Deal With The City" by East River Pipe; the reverb-heavy, undulating "Into The Ocean" by Blue October (with whom Hurricane Bells toured in April); and the sweet acoustic yearnings of "Will You Love Me Tomorrow." The latter, made popular by The Shirelles, is here sung with Keilyn in a duet that has become a staple at Hurricane Bells' live shows. September headlining dates surrounding the EP's release will be announced soon.

Down Comes The Rain track listing:

Make A Deal With The City
The Waiting Song
Into The Ocean
The Deep End
Will You Love Me Tomorrow

The EP follows Tonight Is Ghost, which was released first digitally last fall by Vagrant. Schiltz, also frontman for Longwave, had planned to release the album himself until a b-side, "Monsters," was chosen for The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack. The album is also now available in stores, as is a Hallmark card featuring "Monsters."
