SHeDAISY JOINS READING, WRITING & RHYTHM BENFIT CONCERT NOW COLLECTING DONATIONS FOR SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK

The 10th Annual Reading, Writing and Rhythm benefit concert has just added country group SHeDAISY to the star-studded lineup. The concert, set for June 8 at TPAC’s James Polk Theater in Nashville, TN at 8 PM, will also now have drop boxes for fans to donate non-perishable food items for Nashville’s Second Harvest Food Bank which suffered greatly in the recent devastating floods. The person who brings the largest delivery of non-perishable food goods to the Second Harvest bins will win two VIP passes backstage to meet the participating artists and two seats for the concert. They will also visit in the VIP area before the show, receive an autographed event poster, and an eco-friendly gift bag.

SHeDAISY joins a long list of top artists performing including Rodney Crowell, Jamey Johnson, Bucky Covington, Justin Moore, Buxton Hughes, Jann Arden, and Reading, Writing & Rhythm's Founder, Chely Wright. In addition to collecting food donations for Second Harvest, all proceeds will benefit Tennessee schools devastated by the flood. Tickets are on sale now and are available for purchase here.

“We have seen a wonderful response from the community, and we are blessed to have such great support through events like Reading, Writing and Rhythm. Thank you.” Jaynee Day CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.

The evening is guaranteed to be filled with surprise guest appearances; live on-stage auction items and a silent auction all benefitting Nashville area schools devastated by the recent flooding. Each of the Dixie Chicks' studio albums -- Wide Open Spaces (1998), Fly (1999), Home (2002) and Taking The Long Way (2006) -- reached #1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and each of them took home the Best Country Album Grammy® in their respective eligibility years. Among their numerous awards and accolades, the Dixie Chicks have earned 13 Grammy®s including 2007's Album of the Year for Taking The Long Way.

Following Wide Open Spaces' peak at #4 on the Billboard 200 in 1998, the next three consecutive Dixie Chicks album releases debuted at #1 on that chart. Wide Open Spaces went on to be certified 12x Platinum by the RIAA, who awarded the album its coveted Diamond status, in recognition of sales of more than 10 million pieces. Each of the Chicks' subsequent studio albums has also achieved multi-platinum status: Fly (7x Platinum), Home (6x Platinum), Taking The Long Way (2x Platinum).

When Taking The Long Way debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 best-selling albums chart the week of its release, Dixie Chicks became the first female group in chart history to have three albums debut at #1, breaking the record they'd established themselves in 2002 when Home made them the first female group ever to have two albums debut in the top slot.

With more than 32 million albums sold, and $100 million in concert tickets sold, the Dixie Chicks are one of the most popular live attractions in the world. The group will perform songs from Playlist: The Very Best of Dixie Chicks during their stadium tour with the Eagles running from April 16 through June 24.

On May 4, Columbia Records will release the self-titled debut album from Court Yard Hounds, a country duo featuring Martie Maguire and Emily Robison. Court Yard Hounds will appear on this year's Lilith Fair dates.
