Meet the Nashville Cats, Gordon Stoker and Ray Walker at the Country Music Hall of Fame

On October 25, 2008 at 1:30 PM, at the Country Music Hall of Fame, meet the NASHVILLE CATS: GORDON STOKER AND RAY WALKER OF THE JORDANAIRES.

As members of legendary vocal quartet the Jordanaires, Gordon Stoker and Ray Walker have added their signature harmonies to a long list of classic records over the last five decades.

The Jordanaires crossed genres from gospel and rock to country and pop. Their credits include hits such as Elvis Presley’s “Don’t Be Cruel,” Patsy Cline’s “Crazy,” George Jones’s “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” and Kenny Rogers’s “Lucille.”As session vocalists, they sang on over thirty thousand recordings, working up to four sessions a day for over twenty-three years. Their artistry can be heard every day, all over the world, on radio, television, and in the movies. Stoker and Walker, along with the late Neal Matthews Jr. and Hoyt Hawkins, were elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001. They will discuss their careers during a wide-ranging interview illustrated with records, vintage photos, and rare film footage. A signing will follow in the Museum Store. Included with museum admission. Free to museum members.
