Country Radio Week 2007 in Nashville

It is officially Country Radio Week in Nashville. The week was established to help recognize the Country Radio Seminar and its reputation as a unique radio educational forum.

The seminar, also known as CRS, has been a staple in the country music industry for 38 years.

More than 1,000 radio industry professionals from all over the U.S. are in Music City this week to join forces with their Music Row counterparts.

The Country Radio Seminar is an opportunity for labels and vendors to roll out their new products.

Country singer Mark Wills said it's an opportunity for artists at all stages of their career. He said, “It’s great for new artist, seasoned artist, folks just trying to kind of revitalize their career. It's a big thing, a big thing for everybody.”

You will see some A-list names at the seminar, as well as some names you've never heard of. This year at CRS you will see a lot of big stars involved Toby Keith, Terry Clark, Jon Bon Jovi but you will also see a lot of artist who you've never heard of before.

Salamon said some artists claim to have gotten their start at CRS but it also gives established stars a chance to build their relationship with some of country radio's heavyweights. Salamon said, “A lot of people do it for their career but I do because I like these people. For us to be able to come out and shake their hand it's just a great feeling.”

This week also gives the industry a chance to learn a little about itself. This year’s two research presentations will focus on a review of Hispanic attitudes towards country radio and country music and a large scale study of loyal country radio listeners.

CRS officially kicks off Wednesday at the Convention Center and music venues throughout Nashville.
